Someone up there made the following laughable comment:

//Until there are no runaways, no children beaten to death or neglected to death, until there are no children in foster homes or orphanages, until that happens, Planned Parenthood must exist//

Well, why not go further and say, until there are no terrorists, criminals and diseases in this world, no one should live and suffer such a terrible life!!! Why not just murder every human being!!!

Worse yet, another laughable comment:

//RJ, you do realize that the majority of women who have abortions are married and have children? I doubt that all of these women are irresponsible and sexually immature.//

So I guess that getting married makes you more mature and responsible? Is that why married couples get divorced? I suppose married people who have sex with prostitutes and adulterers, married people who beat their spouses, married people who abuse their kids, come home drunk after work or not at all - all these married people are obviously mature, simply because they are married. Yeah, good one!!!

Marriage does not equal maturity.
But if you are mature, you will marry well.

Another load of nonesense:

//A woman's reproductive rights are very important//

Abortion and contraception makes a woman nothing more than a walking piece of flesh for men to masturbate upon. Contraception destroys a woman's power to be fertile, Abortion destroys a woman's power to create life.

People need to study Aristotle to understand the Catholic Church's position on contraception and abortion.

Pam's mother was brave, but she wasn't emotionally stable enough to raise Pam. That's why she gave Pam up for adoption.

There are many sexually active persons (men and women) that are sexually immature and irresponsible, and Planned Parenthood helps them to remain immature and irresponsible by providing birth control and abortions. The Catholic Church challenges everyone to become mature and responsible through a deep and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Being Catholic doesn't guarantee such a relationship, as the clergy sex abuse scandal demonstrates; however, this is the ultimate challenge given to not just Catholics, but to all of humanity. If everyone were to take up this challenge, "there [would be] no more children beaten to death or neglected to death, and there [would be] no children waiting to be adopted, and no children running away from abusive homes, living on the streets and being exploited, there [would be] no children killing themselves in despair."

Until the time everyone takes up this challenge of the Catholic Church, we should try to help everyone to not hurt themselves even more by adding the guilt of murdering their own child to their already troubled conscience. We should also try to help those that have already hurt themselves through abortion. This is the ministry of Rachel’s Vineyard and Silent No More.

There are many sexually active persons, including married couples with children, that are sexually immature and irresponsible. The fact that they seek an abortion proves this. A sexually mature and responsible couple will avoid pregnancy, if they have just reasons for doing so, by only having sexual intercourse when the woman is infertile. They will, however, be open to life if God chooses to act on that 1% chance that NFP may fail to avoid pregnancy. When a couple uses birth control, they are not open to life or to God, which is why they turn to murder (abortion) when birth control fails (54% of couples that have abortions used birth control).

Here is a story that my friend Adele posted on her blog last November:

A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said:

'Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 yr. old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together.'

So the doctor said: 'Ok, and what do you want me to do?'

She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.'

The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.'

She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request.

Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care of 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.

The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child!'

I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be ok with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution. The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point. He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb. The crime is the same!

RJ, you do realize that the majority of women who have abortions are married and have children? I doubt that all of these women are irresponsible and sexually immature. These women are simply taking measures to ensure they are able to provide for the children they have.

Pam's mother made a brave choice not every woman could make and I commend her. Her mother was emotionally stable enough to raise Pam in a loving environment and not let the circumstances of her conception cloud her love for her child. Unfortunately not every child is that lucky.

There are many sexually-active people (men and women), and Planned Parenthood helps them by providing birth control to help prevent them becoming parents before they are emotionally able to. Not everyone has religious or moral guidlines that prevent them from having sexual relations.

When there are no more children beaten to death or neglected to death, and there are no children waiting to be adopted, and no children running away from abusive homes, living on the streets and being exploited, when there are no children killing themselves in despair, then you can close the doors of every Planned Parenthood.

Until that time, it is a necessary thing.

There's no such thing as "unwanted children," just sexually immature people that are irresponsible. If, for what ever reason, you don't want to have a child, don't engage in sexual activity. Try telling a couple on an adoption waiting list that there are unwanted children. As Mother Teresa of Calcutta said, "How can there be too many children? That is like saying there are too many flowers."

As far as rape, why should the innocent child be killed? Try telling Pam Stenzel, or any other person conceived through rape, that she should have been killed. I dare you. Tell Pam that she deserves to die a violent and painful death because her biological father raped her biological mother. You can contact Pam at this address:
http://pamstenzel.com/Ask_Pam.aspx

I was pro-life when I was in high school and when I first started college.

Over time, I realized abortion has to be a legal option, because some women are not capable of bringing a child into this world safely. They are addicted to drugs, they have no desire to take care of themselves or their growing child, they don't have any reason to take care of this fetus for even the 9 months it takes to put it up for adoption. Or, they are so violent, that assuming they had the baby and decided not to put it up for adoption, they probably would have beaten it to death within a few years.

Until there are no runaways, no children beaten to death or neglected to death, until there are no children in foster homes or orphanages, until that happens, Planned Parenthood must exist, because it helps women who are at least making an attempt. Women making an attempt to not get pregnant or choosing to end a life that they would otherwise end with alcohol, drugs and abuse.

You can make a difference in this world by being a mentor to an existing child. There are so many children that are alive now, and are being neglected. I was one of them. What I wouldn't have given to have someone care about me, encourage me. There were times when I was so sad, so beaten down that I wish my parents had just not had me. I've tried to kill myself over and over.

Be a foster parent, adopt a child, be a mentor to a child.

I don't want abortion to be necessary, but as awful as it is, it is necessary for some women.

The women getting abortions are not women who would be welcoming this child with baby showers and adorable onesies. These are women who are overworked with too many children already, who have been raped, or worse, raped by a family member, they are women who are addicted to drugs and alcohol and know they'd just kill the baby slowly from within with their addictions.

I know I wouldn't have changed my opinion from pro-life to pro-choice withouth seeing what I've seen in the last 15 years.

I know I'm lucky to have had access to birth control when I needed it, to not have gotten pregnant when I was raped and to never have been addicted to drugs.

I've had a pretty good life compared to many women out there, so I can't judge what they need to do, because I'm not living their life.
